Stop Motion Animator v0.3.1 for Blender

Stop Motion Style Animator is a Blender addon designed to instantly convert smooth 3D animation into a classic “Claymation” or LEGO-movie style.
The addon automatically decimates keyframes, changes interpolation types to Constant, and adds procedural noise to simulate the “handmade” imperfections of physical stop-motion animation.

Features
Step Frames: Converts animation to a lower frame rate (e.g., animating “on twos” or “on threes”). It removes intermediate frames and sets interpolation to Constant.
Phase Offset: Allows you to de-synchronize objects. For example, one character updates on frames 1, 3, 5, while another updates on 2, 4, 6. This adds dynamic rhythm and removes the “robotic” feel of synchronized stepping.
Jitter (Noise): Adds micro-noise (F-Curve Noise Modifier) to the animation curves. This simulates the slight physical imperfections that occur when an animator handles a puppet frame-by-frame.
Reset / Clean: A quick cleanup button. Removes the noise modifiers and resets interpolation back to Bezier (smooth), allowing you to restart the tuning process.
Blender 5.0 Optimized: Built specifically to support the new animation system (Slotted Actions / Layered Animation) introduced in Blender 5.0.

How to Use
The addon interface is located in the Dope Sheet (Editor) > Sidebar (N) > StopMotion tab.
Select the animated object(s).
Adjust the settings:
Step Frames: How many frames to hold a pose (e.g., 2 for standard stop motion, 3-4 for a choppier look).
Phase Offset: Shifts the update cycle (useful for offsetting different limbs or characters).
Jitter Strength: The intensity of the “hand-held” noise (recommended values: 0.05 – 0.2). Set to 0 if no noise is desired.
Click Apply Stop Motion.

If you are not satisfied with the result, click Reset to Smooth to return to smooth interpolation (Note: deleted intermediate keyframes cannot be restored by this button—use Ctrl+Z for full undo—but it resets interpolation and removes noise modifiers).
