External Tank: The external tank was a large fuel tank located between the orbiter and the SRBs. It provided liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen propellants to the orbiter’s main engines.

Payload Bay: The orbiter had a large payload bay where various payloads, such as satellites, scientific instruments, and supplies, could be carried. The payload bay was accessible from inside the orbiter and could be opened and closed using a robotic arm.

Reusability: One of the key features of the Space Shuttle was its reusability. Unlike previous spacecraft that were designed for single-use, the Space Shuttle could be flown multiple times, with the orbiter returning to Earth and landing like an airplane.

Crew and Capacity: The Space Shuttle could carry a crew of up to seven astronauts. It had living quarters, a control and command center, and various support systems to sustain the crew during their missions.

Missions: The Space Shuttle was used for a wide range of missions, including deploying satellites into orbit, conducting scientific research in space, repairing and servicing satellites, and transporting crew and supplies to and from the International Space Station.

The Space Shuttle program was in operation from 1981 to 2011 and represented a significant milestone in human spaceflight.
