The Bazaruto Decorative family was inspired by an old fashioned specimen from “Letters and Lettering” by Carlyle & Oring, but you’ll find the inspiration has been greatly expanded upon. What began as an all Capitals letterset has been fleshed out to an extended full character (Capitals & Small Caps) set with many features and variants from the original design.

Bazaruto has been an exercise in typographic evolution. The original solid Art Deco style spawned an Engraved version – these are the two styles included in THIS set.

The Bazaruto Decorative Family is loaded with features to give you plenty of customisation options:

• SmallCaps for lowercase (vertically center aligned).
• SmallCaps feature (baseline aligned)
• A Full set of Inferiors and Superiors for Limitless Fractions
• Tabular and Proportional figure sets with Stylistic Alternate style
• Stylistic Alternates feature for simplified letterforms to more traditional style
• Swashes feature for Start, Middle, and Ending character styles

Approx. 764 Character Glyph Set: the Bazaruto Decorative Family comes with a large glyphset including standard & punctuation, international language support, ligatures, swashes, subscript and superscript, and Small Cap letters.

Bazaruto also spawned a Bodoni-esque text style, and then a monoline version of that text style (both of which include Obliques) which you can find in the Bazaruto Text Family.

But after that is when the real interpretations of form began with the development of the Bazaruto Iron Family, playing off the original specimen having a visual flavor of wrought ironwork in them, and blending that into the Bodoni-esque typestyles.
