Katana, whose real name is Yamashiro Tatsu, is a fictional character in DC Comics. She is a skilled martial artist and swordswoman known for her iconic weapon, the Soultaker sword. Katana first appeared in “The Brave and the Bold” #200 in 1983, created by writer Mike W. Barr and artist Jim Aparo.
Tatsu Yamashiro has a tragic backstory. She is a Japanese woman who witnessed the murder of her husband, Maseo Yamashiro, at the hands of his own brother, Takeo.
